On Thursday 15th April, a change is scheduled to migrate Home (H:/) and Archive (R:/) drives to OneDrive for Business. On the day both drives will be unavailable.
Following the implementation of this change all files saved in Home (H:/) and Archive (R:/) drives will be moved to your OneDrive for Business and become accessible only from your OneDrive for Business.
To access your files, open your OneDrive for Business online storage space1. There, you’ll find two new corresponding folders as per below caption:
Home (H:/) and Archive (R:/) drives will be inaccessible through file explorer (This PC). PST files residing in Home (H:/) and Archive (R:/) and currently mapped to Outlook client, will be disconnected. Also, as from 1st July 2021 it will not be permissible to copy .PST files on OneDrive. As an alternative it is advisable migrating ‘Archive PST’ files to Microsoft’s Exchange Online Archiving service.
Exchange Online Archiving service is cloud-based with unlimited archive storage quota. As part of the transformation exercise for a digital modern workplace, MITA recently launched Microsoft’s Exchange Online Archiving service across the Government.
