ESF 04.0072 - Mobile Public Services Take-Up

Project Background:

A former ESF Project ‘Strengthening Competences to service the public efficiently through eGovernment’ (ESF4.243) has provided insights on the poor take-up of online e-Government services despite these services being available for a number of years.  Some of the insights that have emerged from the research study funded through the ESF4.243 shows that:
  • The general public and civil servants lack awareness of the services available;
  • The lack of administrative capacity and adequate related knowledge that public officers have;
  • The need for simpler and more uniform solutions;
  • The need for changing the aesthetics of the services and
  • Citizens participating in the research study have also suggested that certain services should be offered on a 24/7 basis.

In this regard, the Maltese Government has come up with a Mobile Government Strategy (click here) to make public services accessible anywhere, anytime.

This Project has three components:
- Training
- Knowledge transfer seminar
