Girls in ICT Day

On the 28th April 2016, MITA celebrated the Girls in ICT day through an event at the MITA Data Centre. In total 70 female students and 30 parents participated. The girls had the opportunity to visit the MITA Data Centre including the Service Call Centre. They then carried out a hands-on activity in either robotics or game development, and had the opportunity to interact with female ICT professionals from MITA. The activities were girl-driven to help shatter perception that only boys can be successful in ICT.

EU Code Week

As part of the EU Code week MITA organised a two-day event on the 20th and 21st October 2016. On the first day of activities, which were hosted by Savio College, MITA’s team met with students coming from Stella Maris School of Gzira and from the hosting school. On the following  day, the event was hosted by St Augustine’s College in Pietà, where students from St Monica’s School of Gzira joined in as well. Over 300 students had the opportunity to participate in hands-on sessions on coding of robotics and development of games. An ICT career talk was also delivering to all the students.
