Blood donation drive organised by MITA

Publication Date: Nov 12, 2009
As in previous years, the Malta Information Technology Agency (MITA) has today organised a blood donation drive in front of its offices in Blata l-Bajda. MITA is the prime Government Agency with a mandate to implement ICT policy, programmes and initiatives in Malta.
For this initiative, MITA has partnered with other entities operating in its neighbourhood including the Foundation for Medical Services (FMS), the Management Efficiency Unit (MEU) and the National Commission for the Promotion of Equality (NCPE).
The coordinator of the drive, Noel Tabone said “it was a success and the willingness of employees to contribute towards saving lives was inspiring.” The drive managed to attract over 50 donors. “Giving blood takes very little time and effort, yet it can really save a life,” he added.
This initiative is a result of the Agency’s commitment towards the community. The Agency hopes that today’s initiative helps to further increase and spread awareness about the significance of blood donation.
The National Blood Transfusion Centre situated in St. Luke's Square, Guardamangia is open daily from 8.00a.m. till 6.00p.m., including Sundays and Public holidays.
