MITA’s Continuous Investment in its People

Blata l-Bajda, Malta [ 30/05/2014 ]  The strategic relationship between the Government of Malta and Microsoft has reached another impressive milestone – the launch of a Microsoft IT Academy within the Malta Information Technology Agency (MITA).

As part of its Programme, Government is committed to continue to invest in MITA and in the continuous professional development of its employees. The launch of the Microsoft IT Academy within the Agency is an example of this commitment.

The Microsoft IT Academy will help MITA’s 330 employees to gain access to a vast range of industry recognised certifications for technology skills which are critical in today’s fast paced technologically evolving landscape.  

MITA’s Executive Chairman, Tony Sultana, said that “Investing in our people has always been at the forefront of our operations. For the past 11 years MITA has been accredited by the Investors in People in recognition of our commitment to staff involvement, training and development and in improving business processes and practices.” Mr. Sultana added that, “the new Microsoft IT Academy within MITA will help us in providing our people further support in gaining industry certifications which in result will help us fulfil our commitment in providing Government and our clients with an even more efficient, secure and reliable service.”


About Microsoft IT Academy 

The Academy programme offers certifications in different streams (Business, Client, Server, Database, Development), and at various levels such as Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA), Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS), Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) and Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD).  Microsoft's world-renowned certification programme will allow employees to increase productivity, explore technical areas as well as validate the ability to engineer solutions and services across multiple technologies, both on premise as well as on the cloud.

Delivered as self-paced, interactive, and engaging online training, MITA employees enrolling on the Microsoft IT Academy programme will benefit throughout the course of studies from unlimited access to all programme information and material required to successfully complete the relevant certification.
