Implementing a Corporate Financial Management Solution in Government

Publication Date: Aug 09, 2017
To initiate the implementation process of the Corporate Financial Management Solution in Government, the Ministry for Finance and the Treasury, in collaboration with MITA, have today launched a presentation workshop to engage the key players in the pilot sites.

The Accountant General, Ms Paulanne Mamo and the Director for Government Accounts, Mr Michael Zammit Munro gave introductory speeches, whereas representatives from the Grant Thornton Malta – Unit 4 Consortium gave presentations about the work that needs to be carried out within the chosen pilot sites.

The workshop was very well attended by permanent secretaries and key officials within the pilots Departments and Ministries responsible for the implementation. The new accounting system will support accrual-based core financial applications and will replace the Departmental Accounting System which was the main cash-based corporate application in use for several years.
