Abstract: When a cyber incident goes public, the CEO becomes the story. Most are not prepared for that moment. They contradict the technical team, overpromise on remediation timelines or go silent entirely. All three responses accelerate reputational damage faster than the incident itself. This session covers what good crisis communication looks like in a cyber context, what security and communications teams should brief leadership on before something happens, and the specific mistakes that turn a contained incident into a prolonged reputational crisis.
