EU Funding

MITA assists the Government to manage EU funding. It develops and enhances various funding systems in line with EU regulations to maintain financial transparency and accountability. Additionally, the Agency supports facilitating systems, financial management, verifications and audits, and Treasury payments.

The funding system makes use of “e-cohesion”, a European initiative intended to reduce administrative burdens for beneficiaries. It simplifies the implementation of Structural Funds. The system is used widely in Malta by government entities, non-governmental organisations, private enterprise and citizens.
